The Kids
- Joel, Jill and Ricky
I don't know many siblings who have a relationship like the three of us. We share
the same friends, interests, and of course the same parents! My mom used to tell a story to describe our individual
personalities...
If I dropped my kids off in the middle of Africa this is what would happen...
Joel would call every 3 minutes..."Ma,
you told me to turn left at the tree but I don't see it, I need better directions...I have to be home early ma,
I promised Doug I would pick him up at 9" (freakin out to get home looking for a shortcut)
Ricky would call up and
say "hey ma, ma!!, ma!!! are you listening to me? ma!!! listen...check out how quickly I can find my way home...on
your mark, get set, go..."
Jill would call up and
say, "hey ma, listen, met some cool people in the desert gonna hang for a while, don't worry, see ya later!
We each carry a link that connects us to each other that could never and will never be broken. Such a respect,
unconditional love, plus a couple of black and blues along the way...We couldn't be luckier! |

Joel always got "very serious" and emotional at
family gatherings. Here Ricky and I look the other

Joel's favorite! There are 4 specific requirements in order to scratch Joel's
back...must be Female
(Explanation? I think NOT!) Nails (a pen, pocket comb or rake can be used as well), An Attention
span of more than 2 minutes (You may be in front of a TV
(TIP: DON'T WATCH)
or with company (TIP: DON'T TALK)
or this will distract your movements which causes a painful finger flick to the left side of your head or Joel
will begin to wiggle out of control and yell "Come-onnnnn". And last but not least... Patience (or an easy escape
route for when you've
had enough!)
Joel used to sit on the arm of my chair at work no matter who I was on the phone with or what I was doing... he
would sit there and wiggle until I scratched his back...this drove me crazy!!!!!!! |
